About
Built by watching what schools actually run on
Spreadsheets, group chats and a dozen logins that do not talk to each other are not a system. They are a workaround that everyone has quietly agreed to live with.
Schools and partners we work with
Why we built it
From the founder
Zayne Essop started First after watching schools run on spreadsheets, group chats and a dozen logins that do not talk to each other. He still works directly with schools, and what they run into becomes the roadmap.
How we work
What that means in practice
The roadmap comes from schools, not from a planning document
What a school runs into during a term becomes the next thing built. The FirstEnroll Founding School plan exists for the same reason, so the schools shaping a module can reach the founder directly while it is still being shaped.
Your existing records are our job, not your homework
Student and staff records, historic attendance and assessment data are imported as part of onboarding. Send a sample export and we will tell you what maps cleanly and what does not, before you have agreed to anything.
We are small, and you should know what that means
You get the people who built the thing rather than a ticket queue. It also means we say no on a call to work a larger vendor would happily agree to and schedule for a year from now.
Tell us what your school actually runs on
Send us the spreadsheet you dread opening and we will show you what it looks like once it stops being a spreadsheet. We reply within one working day.
